Monday 28th October
Today is my off the job training day. Apprenticeship work completed as per the off the job training record.
Wednesday 30th October
Working through a spreadsheet, processing Universal Credit atlas updates on Northgate, which were all new claims for Council Tax Reduction. This involved registering the new claim, checking Council Tax Records against the UC information and pending the pdf document to wait for the next UC update with the claimant's income. I also completed VEP tasks which involved logging in and checking the claim from the allocated National Insurance Number and making changes to income if appropriate or writing to the claimant for further information regarding changes in jobs/salary.

Thursday 31st October
Working through a spreadsheet, with work allocated to me to process atlas updates. These were mainly to do with various legacy benefits ending. ESA, Child Tax Credits etc The income had ended on most of the claims, due to the claimant applying for Universal Credit. HB had already been ended in line with this. CTR was already in payment on the majority of the claims, so I pended the document to wait for the next UC income update to be able to reassess the Council Tax Reduction. These usually come in within the next month.
Friday 1st December
Working through a spreadsheet for UC atlas updates. These were mainly for changes in income. Some of them were processed without accepting as there was not a significant change in the claimants wages. I had a few where the income had a significant increase. This meant that after calculation, the claimant no longer qualified for CTR, although some still qualified for UC. The claims are left active for up to 12 months to wait for other UC updates unless the UC claim is terminated then we cancel CTR. I have written out to these claimants advising that due to a change in their income through UC, they no longer qualified for CTR.
