Monday 21st - Working through a spreadsheet, processing Universal Credit atlas updates on Northgate, which were all new claims for Council Tax Reduction.  This involved registering the new claim, checking Council Tax Records against the UC information and pending the pdf document to wait for the next UC update with the claimant's income.  I also completed VEP tasks which involved logging in and checking the claim from the allocated National Insurance Number and making changes to income if appropriate or writing to the claimant for further information regarding changes in jobs/salary. Wednesday 23rd - Today I worked through another spreadsheet, this time processing atlas in relation to other DWP benefits or changes in addresses.  I have written out to claimants who have moved to other properties without informing benefits and I have also cancelled HB/CTR claims due to the death of the claimant.  This also involved in some cases completing a death notification f...

14/10/19 - 20/10/19

Monday 14th October I have been allocated 20% of my working hours each week which is 6:24.  My apprentice learning day has been chosen as each Monday, where I will spend my hours working on my apprenticeship. Today I have spent some time completing some maths and English assessments on the online portals and shown some improvement. I have started to gather evidence from a claim I have been given with a change of circumstance on. I have also started the elearning course on the Open University - Introduction to Cyber Safety.  I am going to try to do an hour or two each week to get through the 24 hours of study time required. For the rest of my working week Wednesday to Friday, I have processed atlas in relation to Universal Credit, which involved changes of income or creating new claims for Council Tax Reduction.  I also processed atlas in relation to other DWP benefits. Completing our induction week Learning about the requirements and structure of the apprenticeship and how to submit evidence and also how to create our blog For the first couple of day we covered radicalisation, British Values and Equality & Diversity.  I found it interesting doing the eLearning and watching the videos showing different peoples experiences. I have gained certificates in Mental Health Awareness, British Values and Equality and Diversity We have been updated on having to do a Citizenship project and had a discussion on maybe doing a joint project as a group and possibly taking a couple of days out of work and volunteering at The Welcome Centre.  I will look into this more when I return to work and discuss options with my line manager. It would also be possible to do a charity bake sale of something like that in work. This week I have completed the work allocated to me by my line manager which was: Accepting and processing Atlas work - changes of circs for benefit claims Processing allocated Universal Credit work via Atlas - creating new claims for Council Tax Reduction and changes in active Council Tax Reduction claims Dealing with general new claims for Housing Benefit and changes of circumstances to housing benefit claims
