Monday 11th November
I am on annual leave today.
Wednesday 13th November
Processing UC atlas from work allocated on a spreadsheet. I have quite a few new claims today. Three of them are people who have never been registered on the system before and their Nationality if stated as other. I have registered the claims and written out to these claimants for proof of their identification and right to reside details for our records. I have also emailed two claimants who are not yet registered for Council Tax at the addresses they have put CTR claims in for. Advised them to go online and sent them a link to the online Council Tax form, on the Kirklees Council Website, which request details for new tenants.
Thursday 14th November
Today I have been dealing with a new homeless accommodation charity, who have sent in new claims for HB at properties that are not yet registered on our systems to pay benefit. I have firstly emailed the details of the organisation and the tenancy types to a senior manager, for him to establish whether they are eligible to be paid housing benefit or if they need to be referred to UC. When it is confirmed that HB can be paid, I have then had to send the property details to a senior officer, to set up the property references on Northgate. I have also had to send the organisation details and their bank details to the overpayment team, they set up the company on Northgate as a landlord, for HB to be paid directly to them. Once all the set up procedures have been completed, I have emailed the contact at the charity to confirm that all the claims have been set up and provided her with instructions on what evidence to provide for each claim, where to submit the evidence and how to inform us of any changes in the tenancies or rooms that are being occupied.
Friday 15th November
More UC atlas work for changes in income. I have also been allocated 3 VEP requests for updates on claimants wages through HMRC. I have amended these claims, which resulted in all cases, a reduction of benefit. I have processed some changes in circumstances to do with non dependent's income and also included newly born children in the household.
Saturday 16th November
Overtime work - completed at home. The work allocated was UC atlas. New CTR claims and changes in income for already active claims.
