Completing our induction week

Learning about the requirements and structure of the apprenticeship and how to submit evidence and also how to create our blog

For the first couple of day we covered radicalisation, British Values and Equality & Diversity.  I found it interesting doing the eLearning and watching the videos showing different peoples experiences.

I have gained certificates in Mental Health Awareness, British Values and Equality and Diversity

We have been updated on having to do a Citizenship project and had a discussion on maybe doing a joint project as a group and possibly taking a couple of days out of work and volunteering at The Welcome Centre.  I will look into this more when I return to work and discuss options with my line manager. It would also be possible to do a charity bake sale of something like that in work.

I have completed my functional skills tests in Maths and English and will continue to work through the modules throughout the apprenticeship to hopefully improve my skills and gain a level 4.

Housing Benefit and Universal Credit were looked at in detail.  I found the Universal Credit section particularly useful as I have never been provided with training or full information on exactly how UC is calculated or given any full information on the different elements and the qualifying criteria

  1. Glad you enjoyed the training week and take something from it. This is an excellent account of the week.
